My approach is informed by canine ethology (Applied Ethology) and is minimally aversive and rewards-based. The goal for your dog is to navigate social situations in a calm, attentive, and polite manner. We focus on preventing dangerous, destructive, or rude behaviors by emphasizing early socialization and training essential skills for a companion or family pet, such as bite inhibition, coming when called, being still on command, impulse control, and good manners, and of course, basic obedience. We believe that training should be a pleasant experience for both dogs and their humans. Breed selection is the key to a harmonious home, as a compatible breed aligns with your lifestyle ( breed consultations at no charge). Early socialization, play dates, and our puppy sessions and classes are integral to raising a well-adjusted pet. Our methods reflect this philosophy. Early training and socialization help avoid the need for social remediation and behavior modification later in your dog's life.
