At Raleigh Dog Training, we utilize balanced training techniques that are minimally aversive and rewards-based to teach your dog how to approach social situations in a calm, attentive, and polite manner. Our focus is preventing dangerous, destructive, or rude behaviors by emphasizing early socialization and training essential skills for a companion or family pet, such as coming when called, being still on command, impulse control, and good manners. We believe that training should be a pleasant experience for both dogs and their humans, and our methods reflect this philosophy. This commitment to positive training starts with breed selection, as a compatible breed aligns with your lifestyle (and we offer breed consultations at no charge). Early socialization, play dates, and our puppy sessions and classes are integral to a well adjusted dog -- early training and socialization helps to avoid the need for social remediation and behavior modification later in your dog's life. By investing the time upfront, you can prevent the need for costly behavior modification down the line.

Join our weekly drop-in puppy sessions for just $20 per week! Designed for puppies aged 8 to 20 weeks, these sessions focus on socialization through play, fun learning games, and the beginnings of basic obedience. For dogs aged 5 months to 1 year, we emphasize basic obedience, engaging learning games, and group walks in a park setting. For those between 1 to 2 years, we offer more rigorous obedience training that builds on previously learned skills, featuring group walks and long-line work aimed at achieving reliable off-leash recall. We utilize balanced training techniques and provide individualized training plans to ensure that early socialization and training prevent reactivity and other issues later in life.
